U.S. Department of Commerce forest products industry team will be hosting a sustainable manufacturing event in Richmond, VA on September 14th.  The no-cost event focuses on energy efficiency and sustainability in the forest products industry. Click here for more information.

The NC Tree Farm Program will be hosting a workshop on September 14, 2010…This workshop is designed for foresters who would like to be certified Tree Farm Inspectors.  The workshop will be conducted at the Roaring River Volunteer Fire Department from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.   Click here for more information.

The BCAP program has been suspended for at least sixty days beginning February 1, 2010, pending final review and public comment period that ends March 31, 2010. This means that no new applications will be accepted until after the suspension ends; however, payments in process prior to February 3rd will be paid. Click here for information about the program.

The NCFA developed a position statement on the biomass issue in 2008 and updated it again in 2009 in response to this emerging issue...Click here for a copy of that position statement.

North Carolina's Division of Water Quality has developed a new general stormwater permit for the forest products industry...Members can find public information on all permits by clicking here or can go directly to the page for permit renewals by clicking here. The permit that is probably the most related to NCFA Members is the Timber Products General Permit which is NCG210000. The NCFA has submitted comments, click here to view them.  

In what was a collaborative effort with several groups, the NCFA has produced a landowner's guide to forestry that can be mailed to a landowner free of charge by calling the NCFA office or by clicking here for a PDF version.
